It is a wonderful area for rambling and riding, playing golf and watching polo, or just having an afternoon in the park.
The very young will love Locks Tide Recreation Ground, especially in summer when there is a `beach' and a splash pad. Older children can test their sense of adventure at Go Ape in Swinley Forest, and everyone can get on their bikes at Swinley Bike Hub and set off to explore the woodlands trail.
Westmorland Park in Warfield is an inviting green space with good sports facilities; tennis, basketball, baseball, football, and play areas for children up to 14. A little further away, Windsor Great Park and Virginia Water combine parkland, beauty and history for everyone to enjoy.
Golf clubs include Mill Ride, The Berkshire and Billlingbear Park with pay-and-play facilities at Birds Hills Golf Centre. Those with equine inclinations really are spoilt for choice; you can saddle up at Berkshire Riding Centre, Parkview Equestrian Centre and Treetops Equestrian Centre. There is also polo for spectators and riders at The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club, Clover Polo, Ranelagh Farm and Emsworth, to name but four.
