The holiday isn’t over yet!
Chancellor Rishi Sunak has extended the Stamp Duty savings for another three months.
The Stamp Duty Holiday, introduced in July 2020, has been widely credited with a boom in house sales, despite all the Covid restrictions. Chancellor Rishi Sunak had further good news for homebuyers in the 2021 Budget on March 3rd, announcing that the Stamp Duty Holiday is to be extended until the end of June.
It’s estimated that around 300,000 transactions will benefit from this over the next three months. Between £125,000 and £500,000 there’s no Stamp Duty to pay at all, producing a saving of up to £15,000.
It’s particularly welcome news for those who are in mid-transaction, and for one reason or another can’t meet the original deadline of 31st March, but also good news for buyers looking to move soon.
Millgate has a range of homes scheduled for completion by the end of June, which means that customers, if they act fast, can take advantage of the extended Stamp Duty Holiday as well as other available incentives.
