An idyllic Childhood at Ide Hill Park

Thinking back to your childhood often conjures up nostalgic memories of climbing trees and running around without a care in the world, yet according to child play expert Tim Gill, the lack of unsupervised play that today’s children enjoy could have a detrimental impact on their development and health. Fortunately, at the 37-acre parkland estate of Ide Hill Park near Sevenoaks in Kent, the family is king and children once again have the chance to enjoy an idyllic childhood.

Eight new Georgian style mansions have been built in the historic grounds by Millgate Homes and afford families with the feeling of security thanks to the gated location, the CCTV on site, and concierge service. Moreover, residents of the mansion homes have access to the 30 acres of private parkland, woodland and nature trails that meander throughout the estate. Children both young and old can enjoy exploring under the mature and leafy canopies of the ancient Beech and Oak trees that tower above. While hidden deep in the woodland is a secret play area, complete with swings, a seesaw and tree house, which has been fashioned from wood lending it an organic feel.

Adrian Dyer, Sales Manager for Millgate Homes, comments: “With security issues preying on the minds of parents, children today often lead very sheltered lives, but at Ide Hill Park they have the chance to explore the extensive grounds freely. Moreover, with the excellent and highly regarded schools close by, including a number of independent schools, the location truly is superb for families.”

The last two available Georgian inspired mansions boast 5 bedrooms, a home cinema room, gymnasium and private landscaped gardens. One of the homes also has an indoor swimming pool. These opulent homes are finished to a very high specification internally and feature magnificent, hand crafted furniture by international furniture designer, Mark Wilkinson, in the kitchens, bathrooms and en-suites.

Sevenoaks offers a variety of independent boutiques and high street brands and the train station offers regular services to London Bridge, Waterloo, and Charing Cross in less than 35 minutes. By car, central London is less than 35 miles away, while for weekends on the continent, jet setters can charter private planes from Biggin Hill Airport, or take advantage of Gatwick and The Channel Tunnel, which are all within easy reach.

Prices for the remaining country homes by Millgate are from £3,250,000.
