Wokingham District Council 'Healthy Schools' Inititive

Part of a broader county-wide scheme, Wokingham district's schools are undertaking a programme that aims to promote personal, social and health development and covers everything from emotional health and well-being, healthy eating and exercise to looking after the local environment, citizenship and drug education.

Millgate Homes have supported the scheme since 2004, as David Simpson, Director and General Manager of Millgate Homes explains:

“We've been involved for over a year now with the National Healthy Schools programme. It's such a worthwhile opportunity for young people to start learning the art of effective communication, how to manage relationships and to practice applying those skills to real life situations.”

Wokingham District Council's chairman Cllr Iain Brown, said: “I would like to extend my thanks to Millgate Homes for their continued support of the Healthy Schools Programme. We know the programme can improve performance in all areas of school achievement and it has a positive impact on the whole school community. http://www.wokingham.gov.uk
