An annual event run by Wokingham District Council Sports Council, the Wokingham Sports Personality of the Year Awards celebrates the achievements of grass-roots sportsmen and women in the Wokingham District. Millgate Homes have sponsored the Junior Girls (under 16's) category since 2004, providing a cup to winner. The annual awards ceremony is a prestigious event, with Olympic athletes sharing their experiences in their role as guest speakers.

2005 has seen Millgate Homes increase their support of the event providing, in partnership with Romans Estate Agents a champagne reception and buffet for the November prize-giving ceremony. Terry Bunyard, Chairman of the Wokingham District Council Sports Council says:

“We are delighted with the additional support that Millgate Homes and Romans have offered – it will help to make the 2005 event an even more special occasion, both for those in contention for an award and their supporters.”
