Millgate Land & Planning Director Nick Jackson and his wife Ann have been flying the Millgate flag during this year’s sailing season as they campaigned their Laser SB3 Sports Boat in various championships, complete with its smart new Millgate Homes livery.

Nick and Ann have been racing sailing dinghies for many years with considerable success both individually and as a team - Nick has won the Enterprise Masters National Championship four times and Ann has been Ladies National & World Champion several times, also in the Enterprise class.

This new, exciting class has attracted a strong interest within the sailing world and represents a fresh challenge for the pair. The 23ft craft is equipped to give an awesome downwind performance of up to 20 knots with a decent breeze, and with a maximum crew weight of 270kg a team of 3 or 4 people is required to optimise the weight distribution, so Nick and Ann will be racing with separate teams the majority of the time.

The highlight of the 2007 season was the Cowes festival in the second week of August which attracted a fleet of over 100 boats and saw huge crowds gather to enjoy the spectacle on the Solent - to view the Millgate boat in action at Cowes, click here.
