Millgate appoints new board member to spearhead Lifestyle division

In a major strategic step aimed at cornering the top end of the retirement market with a new concept in ‘lifestyle’ properties for affluent over 55’s, Millgate Homes appointed Jonathan Cranley to the board of Directors to head up a new division which has been specifically created to target this key sector.

Jonathan brings with him 14 years of industry experience, including eight years as a regional Sales and Marketing Director with the Michael Shanly Group, and director level roles at Gladedale Homes and Berkeley Homes.

Jonathan, clearly excited at the challenges and opportunities of this new role, says:
“My brief is to develop a lifestyle product which will be unique to the market place; totally differentiated from traditional “retirement” schemes, which target a completely different demographic to the affluent, active mature buyers that we are going to be building homes for.

“Our discerning purchasers will seek properties with spacious interiors to allow for lavish entertaining and accommodating guests. Some may need dedicated working space, in the shape of a study, from which to carry on their business, whilst many will appreciate the security provided by our carefully planned developments, allowing residents to “lock up and leave” for extended trips, possibly to second homes abroad.

“We aim to create an atmosphere reminiscent of an exclusive private hotel or club, complete with concierge and lifestyle management services - taking care of everything from arranging transport to and from airports to sourcing and managing cleaning staff, booking restaurants or theatre tickets and ensuring that properties are safe and secure while the owners are away. We will also incorporate leisure facilities and exclusive areas where residents can socialise with their neighbours and entertain guests.
