Millgate Homes goes from Strength to Strength

Following a period of impressive growth, which has seen the Company increase productivity to 152 units in 2005 from 59 the previous year, move into new, purpose built offices and see turnover rocket to almost £60 million, there is no doubt that Millgate Homes is going places fast. Its philosophy of building homes with passion and artistic flair using traditional methods of build has not been compromised in spite of a departure from the Company's core market of executive detached homes to encompass a more diverse property portfolio that includes apartments, town houses and cottage style properties in reflection of Government pressure to increase densities.

Against this backdrop, Millgate is strengthening its management team to include two new key appointments that will help to ensure that the tenets of the brand are not compromised as the Company continues to grow. Director David Simpson explains:

“We firmly believe that our continuing success is due to the fact that we refuse to compromise on our core philosophies, despite the pressures associated with rapid growth. The Millgate brand is built on the solid foundation of using high quality materials and designing in impressive specification. This holds true across the board, whether it's a seven bedroom detached home, a three bedroom cottage or a two bedroom apartment.

“We have thus far succeeded in maintaining our objectives, but feel that in order to ensure the future integrity of the brand, the addition of Development Manager and Commercial Manager roles will strengthen the Management team and play a key part in maintaining and continuing to develop the brand legacy.”

Both positions have now been filled by individuals who bring with them a wealth of industry experience. Reporting to Construction Director Paul Beaney, Tony Coard has been appointed Development Manager, a role which will see him work across the land, technical and sales departments to ensure that projects are managed from start to finish to provide maximum efficiency without compromising the quality and appeal of the end product.

Meanwhile, in his role as Commercial Manager Mark Taylor will also report to Paul Beaney and will liaise between the land, design and build teams to ensure that the specification of homes is optimised at all sites, whilst advising on design at technical stage to maximise buildability yet maintain Millgate's traditional build methods and designs that are sympathetic to a development's surroundings.

The addition of these key members of the Millgate team will ensure that while costs and efficiency are effectively managed, the Company's commitment to quality and the characteristics that have become synonymous with the brand will not be lost.
