Housebuilder helps to Recognise the Risk Takers

Entrepreneurs are rare, yet key, members of society. They build businesses, create jobs and growth. They take risks with their personal financial security. Often they start with little more than an idea and grim determination to succeed - Not everyone gets it right, but those that do have a unique talent that is seldom recognised.

However, Berkshire based Millgate Homes, themselves an astonishing success story, are sponsoring a new award aimed at recognising the achievements of Young Entrepreneurs in the Thames Valley region.

The awards are open to anyone aged 35 or under who can demonstrate this quality of backing their own idea, finding the inner drive and then letting nothing stand in their way. The award, a new category in the prestigious annual Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards, will provide these risk-takers with the recognition they deserve and help them on their path to success.

David Simpson Director and General Manager of Millgate says “We want to hear from the young guns in the region, the hungry ones, the ones who know the rewards can be spectacular and those who have succeeded against the odds. Our own founder Graeme Simpson won such an award himself and we know what a motivator it can be”

Awards chairman David Murray said: "I am delighted to welcome Millgate as a sponsor for 2006. We are always looking for new blood, and having a Young Entrepreneur category will highlight those enterprising young people making their mark in the Thames Valley."

The award will be presented at the 12th Thames Valley Business Magazine Award ceremony on 23rd November 2006, where shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne will be present as Guest Speaker.
