Millgate Homes is not a developer immediately associated with investors. However, buying into the Company’s trademark combination of quality build, exceptional specification and prime locations is proving a shrewd move, as Maidenhead-based investor Amanda Gaskin explains:
“I am always on the lookout for high quality investment opportunities to add to my portfolio. I prefer to invest in developments that are within the Thames Valley, so location is a key factor in my decision making. I first came across Millgate Homes through its Fairway development on Shoppenhangers Road, Maidenhead – the location was a bit of a gamble, as there was so much development planned over the following two years, but I was so impressed by the whole package that I decided that it was a risk worth taking.
“Everything, from the aspect – the development backs onto the Maidenhead golf course – to the layout of the apartments and the quality of finish was exceptional; it just felt right.
“I was so impressed with my purchase that, when I heard Millgate was planning further developments on Shoppenhangers Road I made enquiries and subsequently purchased apartments at both Bentash and Robin Hill off plan. The Millgate team was fantastic throughout and everything was done to ensure that I was able to let the properties as quickly and easily as possible.
“Since then, the proof has really been in the pudding - each of the apartments was let and occupied shortly after completion and the quality of the developments has attracted a group of very discerning, professional tenants. I am delighted to say that all of the tenants in the Millgate properties have stayed on long term, contrary to my initial expectations as often Maidenhead and the surrounding area are hotspots for short-term executive lettings. Overall, I have been able to sit back and let my investment work for me. I am confident that investing in a premium product has maximised the potential for a profitable resale in the long term.” |
