When retirees Mr and Mrs Fraser made the decision to downsize from their Maidenhead home, they found exclusive over 55s development Imperial Court in Wokingham offered just the lifestyle change they were looking for, as Mrs Fraser explains:

“We had lived in Maidenhead for 19 years, and the family home was really getting too big for us to manage. Two years ago, we made the decision to downsize and put an offer in on an apartment in Maidenhead which later fell through which, while disappointing at the time, was actually a blessing in disguise. Shortly afterwards, we heard that Millgate Homes was building a development specifically for over 55s in Wokingham. We were aware of the brand and very impressed by the quality, so made our enquiry immediately – I certainly think we were one of the first on the mailing list!”

The Frasers watched with interest as Imperial Court has taken shape and it has certainly lived up to their expectations:

“The finished article is fantastic – the move has given us real peace of mind in many ways. Being in a ground floor apartment, we no longer have the worry of stairs and it’s nice to know that there is always somebody around – whether it’s our new neighbours or the concierge. It’s also nice that you can either choose to stay in the privacy of your own apartment or socialise in the club lounge with neighbours, and having the guest accommodation is very useful for if friends and family come to stay. We particularly love the fact that so much care has gone into the communal gardens – we can sit outside and enjoy them without having to worry about arranging for someone to come and do the gardening – it’s the best of both worlds!”
